I hope the folks on the Alma are ok. Follow the Global Sumud Flotilla www.globalsumudflotilla.org/live/ Trying to look at other places for updates but it's hard to find. Far as I know they are beginning to run into the high risk zone and one ship may have gotten boarded. Signals are being jammed.

As much as I used to admire journalism and the work a lot of journalists have done in the past to help communities and share stories that would go unheard much like in a lot of documentaries I am increasingly disappointed in how they put going viral over the facts or peoples safety. 2/3
Advocates like Renna and Wolf are urging both media leaders and the public to demand better. For journalists, that means investing in fact-checking, slowing down when information is unverified, and considering the real-world consequences of framing choices. For the public, it means resisting the urge to amplify unconfirmed narratives and holding outlets accountable when they fail.

Also worth mentioning Leaf the site's creator mentioned to people to keep calling Stripe. Not sure if folks are doing that anymore but that is crucial to restoring NSFW works and protecting the site from further censorship. These were from a few days back via discord.

Let's start with this: what are people actually saying when they say ltch should make their own Payment Processor? Well, that's not entirely clear. "Payment Processor" is an umbrella term that can talk about this entire weird pyramid of institutions that hand payment information up a chain of trust and eventually end up at either banks, or a crediting company like Visa or Mastercard. When you swipe a card or do an online checkout, you talk to one shopping cart provider and it all just works, but there's about five layers of handoff that go on under the hood... • The actual big names we know (Visa, Mastercard, etc) are "Payment Card Networks"; they either allocate debt, or do direct debit from banks they partner with • PCNs license access to their network to "Acquirers" , who are almost universally banks that make their own cards and handle all the accounting • Merchant Service Providers (MSPs) are fintech companies that take payment info and submit it to PCNs. They usually also sell POS terminals. Think Fiserv, First Data, NCR, PAX, Ingenico, etc • Payment Facilitators (PayFacs) take in payments for a business then distribute the money to those businesses later. Stuff like Stripe, Paypal, etc • Merchants are the people who get the money at the end of the day. Itch is a merchant • Sub-merchants are people who get paid out as part of a consignment deal with a merchant. If Itch is a merchant, an Itch creator is a sub-merchant The difference between an MSP and a PayFac is largely academic for a lot of people. It boils down to "Is the company handling the payments acting as a bank for you while holding the funds?"; this is not entirely accurate but close...
