Glad to hear it 😂

Too obvious. Willow has much better taste than that.

I remember some years ago being on holiday with friends, so useful to have cash for splitting bills etc., and having to keep drawing it out in dribs and drabs.

I'm so sorry 💔 Poor D-Dog and poor you.

I think mild obscure pet peeves are worth keeping.

Nah, you can still be irritated, I'm willing to bet people are using it incorrectly in at least some cases.

I know 💔

He is lovely 😻

You have a good brother!

In that case, I look forward to seeing more of snoozy lad! The shy ones are always so worth it.
November 16, 2025 at 12:40 PM
I'm sorry you're having to make the decision to keep them in, but I think it's sensible unless you ever find out what's happened to the others and if there's anything else you can do to protect the new additions. Snoozy lad is gorgeous. Do you think inside space is enough for 3?
November 16, 2025 at 12:09 PM
I know what you mean. Beside everything else, this should be trivial, but somehow it's still maddening.
November 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM
Nah. Wine and stinky cheese are banal facts of everyday life to the French. A Victoria sponge, like that one in Franglaise's kitchen the other day, that's proper exotic.

I dislike euphemisms for death quite intensely, but also recognise the right of the person grieving to use the words that cause them the least distress. However, that one, without making sure the context was crystal clear, is asking for trouble!

Which is not to say that people aren't using it where single would be preferable, of course. I haven't heard it yet so can't really comment. It may be a bit like 'use' and 'utilize'. Nobody ever just sodding 'uses' things any more. It's not that 'utilize' is wrong, but so often 'use' would be better
November 16, 2025 at 9:22 AM
Sorry, I replied to this thinking you meant it the other way around (now deleted). However, singular does also have the meaning of single. I'd use it most often that way in terms of grammar. However, it can be used more generally, and it's not new:

Almost without exception, such 'patriots' loathe everything that actually makes Britain a great country and long for a smaller country, with narrower horizons, and a meaner future, based on a version of the past that never existed.

Bribe them with cake.

I'd spotted that in a couple of photos. At least you don't have far to go with them wailing indignantly in a cat carrier...

BTW: This is Salers the village. The bloke whose head you can see on a plinth is the guy you have to thank for your amazing cheese discovery: fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_...
