At some point, she’d pulled the sobbing chef into her lap, holding him tight to her and gently swaying them back and forth. She knew he needed to cry, so she didn’t try to speak anymore, just closing her eyes and rubbing his back, holding him close.
He doesn’t know how long they sit there. Could be mere minutes, but it feels like hours- days, even.
