Good mashed potato is a wonderful thing. Even just by itself with gravy. Great winter comfort food. Closely followed by German potato soup.

We now only buy gifts for grandchildren, those only after conferring with parents as to what is wanted/suitable. Nothing huge or costly either. We have told everyone not to buy us anything either. Nor do we buy food etc just for tradition, only to regret it later. Stuff we genuinely enjoy only.

It was such an unexpected, deep, emotional ending. I remember the stunned silence in the room. My 'what just happened' feeling. Very thought provoking and effective. One of the most memorable moments in TV.

Zero sense of style, proportion or class. If there is any actual gold anywhere he'll probably scrape it off and take it with him when he goes. What am I saying! He has no intention of ever leaving.

Good for him. It will be interesting to hear him speak freely. What does it mean that his successor is already lined up? How is that successor protected from being overridden by Trump?

I think combining the two is a wonderful message. Remembering those who lost their lives due to war whilst hoping for a future where it doesn't have to happen.

Not using your phone at bed time does make a huge difference. I've proved it to myself very clearly. Self discipline to not pick it up is definitely hard though.

Isn't that just a logical way to keep another layer to hand whilst keeping hands free? I know it's 'a look', which may have become known for a particular group of people, but it seems practical too. Somehow tidier than tying round your waist. I've done both!
