How often do you see trucks like this? Wheels that stick out like these can be used as weapons on the road and are illegal in all 50 states, but I have yet to see or hear about anyone being cited for them. Tells you all you need to know about police.

Here's my time lapse of the Moon-Mars occultation last night. I made it using my pixel 6 phone mounted to an 8-inch Dobsonian telescope + recording in the 5x time lapse mode. I edited out my telescope adjustments which made the video go crazy for a second or two.

Took a time lapse of the Mars Moon conjunction. Had to adjust the scope a few times, hence the chaotic scene changes.

Got it! First two are photos at 420 mm, third photo is a cell phone looking through a telescope.

If you're interested, the moon will be passing in front of Mars tonight starting around 9:17. Right now it's the bright orange "star" below and to the left of the moon. Hopefully it'll stay clear. 📷🔭

Happy New Year! I pray it's a good one. It was much clearer outside last night so I managed to get these images of the Orion nebulas. Wish I had more time to spend doing this! Pick 1 is the whole constellation, 2nd shows the flame & horsehead, 3 is zoomed on the Orion and Running man.❤️🔭🌌🌠

I'm going for Orion tonight. It's finally clear in PA so tonight's the night. Here's a cell phone shot + a single image test shot. Hopefully I'll have a final image tomorrow. 🤞🤞

I was hoping to photograph some deep sky objects over my break but the weather has been uncooperative so the other day I went to Middle Creek wildlife area. I managed to see one eagle, and about 30 herons. Beautiful spot!

The Orion constellation and nebula last night with a 50mm lens. I'll be setting up my tracking mount later this week for a more magnified and higher quality image,🤞 weather permitting.🙏🙏

Got a picture of a strange glowing orb over Pennsylvania tonight. Probably the same one that news crew saw the other night! Then I focused my camera and realized it was just Venus. 🙄

Update: nah, turned out to be just Venus after I focused the camera.

Last night I shot the Pleiades star cluster and got pretty good results. The first photo shows the star cluster as it appears to the eye in a fairly dark sky. The second photo is roughly 2 hours exposure time with stacking and Photoshop processing. A chilly but fruitful night in PA!
