Sampling in stunning riverine grasslands in upper Assam. Who knew savanna field work would involve traveling by boat and watching Gangetic river dolphins on the way to our field sites.

In Kerala amongst the circling Brahminy kites, the diving chestnut headed bee-eaters, the very still heron, the low flying cormorants, & the egret. The Manjaly river is sweet to taste. Is lined by mangroves. Fish farms. Wooden boats.
