Meteorologist & Presenter 🌦️
It’s nearly up to 300 comments now 😂 🫠 honestly, if anything, it just spurs me on more to continue having these kinds of important conversations! 🙌🏻

Exactly, climate change is multi-faceted and can’t just be a one size fits all. But as soon as it doesn’t fit one narrative it’s deemed a scam 🥲 🤦🏻‍♀️

Exactly this! Thank you 🙏🏻

Honestly I care less from a personal perspective and more from outrage of people’s unwillingness to just listen to the science. It’s a painful battle.

Plus people clearly jumping straight to the comments without even hearing my interview and what I had to say?! 😂

My main take away is that as a meteorologist you really can’t win. We’re all just trying to communicate the facts sufficiently without under-doing it so that people don’t take the right precautions, but also without scaremongering.

Storm Bert was a noteworthy storm that led to some devastating impacts, but at the end of the day it was also just a regular low.

It was particularly nasty as it rapidly deepened, brought a train of tropical moisture (atmos river) & was enhanced by orographic uplift. Plus snowmelt & rapid thawing.

A warmer atmosphere can hold more moisture. It’s a simple fact of science.

But weather and climate (and I feel like a broken record every time I say this) are two separate entities. Not every single weather event can be attributed to climate change.
