The Democratic Party and liberal establishment are just as complicit in the drive to censorship as the right and far right are. The former learned through Gaza that they cannot control the narrative w/o changes to social media. Bluesky = liberal establishment. The D's are part of the problem.

The R's are fascist, and their aim is the silencing of political opposition, one-party rule, and presidential dictatorship. Remember that in addition to this rhetorical (and threatened legal) assault on the Democratic Party and "the left," they're deploying the military in various US cities.

Fascism is first and foremost the capitalist class rejecting democratic forms of rule in defense of capitalism. The Trump admin's fascist assault on public health is not simply ideological: they are doing this in pursuit of profits and wealth. They are doing this in service to a financial oligarchy.

They see shorter lifespans for the majority *as a positive*. Two, dismantling public health means corporate America can spend less on workers, can spend less on public health. The pandemic taught the US capitalist class that public health is at odds with its pursuit of profits.

Why is the Trump regime throwing out public health science? Because the US capitalist class has determined that public health and public health science are at odds with its pursuit of profits and wealth. One, shorter lifespans for the vast majority means less spending on social programs.

Fascism is what the capitalist class turns to when it thinks that continuing with democracy threatens its wealth and privileges, threatens the capitalist system itself. So what does it do? It jettisons democracy and turns to authoritarianism. All of the ideological baggage simply comes with this.

Why did fascism arise in Italy, Spain and Germany in the 1920s and 30s? It arose to defend the capitalist class and capitalism against the increasing power of the working class, to defend capitalism against the threat of socialism.

The problem is your understanding of fascism. Fascism is not simply an ideology. It has an economic foundation and motivation. Fascism arises when a capitalist class sees democracy itself as a problem, when it feels its wealth & profits—& capitalism itself—are threatened by majority opinion.

While the Trump administration's language around these allegations against Obama is undoubtedly fascist, let's note that it is in fact the case that the "Russia Trump collusion" story was a bogus concoction of the DNC and elements of the intelligence community.
