I try to drill that in to any child I draw or paint with, and makes a mistake so throws their work away…

The beauty of paint is mistakes can be easily remedied or can become the outcome you didn’t know you wanted.

Wow! That takes a lot of patience. Use a sponge and other colors for texture!
