Yup. I compare being a famous author with being a famous bluegrass musician. The people who know, are thrilled, and the people who don't know, don't care. On the other hand, I am almost never bothered out in the world, and I know myself well enough to know I would miss anonymity when it was gone.
I remember someone saying that being a famous graphic designer is like being a famous dentist. People in your industry are like “omg!” but the general public has no idea who you are.
