Sitting outside my local children’s disability service clinic and just watching parents walk in. I can’t say one didn’t look tired and worn. Made me reflect on my own demeanor.

What’s it say about the state of American parenthood and healthcare that parents are just blown non stop?

Unsouled by Will Wight is first book in the Cradle series I started reading in September. Since I didn’t really have a variety I figured instead of picking my favorite I’d just pick the start of the journey.

Fantasy with great world building.

Five Dares by Eli Easton is the book I enjoyed most of those I read in August.

Best friends to lovers trope can be fun. This was unique and light hearted. Jake and Andy are smile worthy.

I thought Groks comments on Elon were humorous when I was probing it over loyalty tests in the current administration.

Shh. Don’t tell Elon or I’m sure Grok will be sent to re-education again.

You & Me - Tal Bauer is the book I enjoyed most of those I read in July.

The premise interested me. Widowed dad discovers something new about himself. Spice wasn’t too heavy. I think Tal delivered and I’ll be interested to check out what else they have done.

The Signal - Eric Buchman : Finished

Interesting sci fi short. Felt like a radio play but more a character study than real plot mover.

Tentacular Alien M/M. Spicier than I like but very interesting alien species.

Spicy Alien MM. Not perfect but almost. Definitely worth a read if it hits your yum.

The Revenge Game - Jax Calder: Finished

Fun, though unlikely romance. Who doesn’t want to catch a young tech mogul?

Lucky Bounce - Cait Nary: Finished

This had a ton of good reviews. Unfortunately I read them and not the bad. In serious need of editing. Unlikable MC. Just not good. Pass.

Like You’ve Nothing Left to Prove- E. L. Massey: Finished

This continuation is fluffy and sweet but honestly I’m not certain of the point. I don’t feel like there was a lot of growth of the MCs. It’s not a bad read if you love Alex and Eli though.

Like Real People Do - E. L. Massey: Finished

Massey puts together the only Hockey themed MM romance I’ve been able to really enjoy. Great characters and fun story.

Andrew continues to be one of my favorite mm authors. Ethan and Clay are sweet in this low stakes, cozy read.

Saved by a Barbarian - Amy Padilla: Finished

Barbarian m|m romance. I really like Padilla’s Spice levels and her stories always leave a warm feeling. Similar formula as the original but different enough. Hope for more.

Interesting story but not what I expected. Title feels off. Spice is weak but otherwise fun.

Marske had an interesting story in an underdeveloped fantasy world. The spice felt a bit unrealistic but overall I enjoyed the main characters.

This was a milder one for Andrews but still enjoyable. An Australian penal colony romance with a bit of spice.
