Tanganyika and Zanzibar became Tanzania in 1964. This globe is giving me horrible flashbacks to elementary school when our teacher could always throw us a curve ball by randomly pointing to a country and asking its new name. We HAD to read the newspaper every day to keep up.

Jamaica became independent in 1962. Kenya in December 1963. So this globe was made in 1964.

Rhodesia and Nyasaland ends in 1963. Upper Volta became independent in 1960. So 1960-1963. I have to move this to my office. My kids cannot rely on this for homework.

Guyana became independent in 1970. Malagasy Republic was 1958-1975. So 1958-1969.
