I received the news that one of my 8th grade math students passed away today.

This is my 5th year teaching, and a total of 5 of my students have passed away.

Right now, I am not ok.

I'm a strong and positive Black woman who wants the best for everyone.

I understand that in order to make this possible, I have to take care of myself first.
