Difficult to navigate, long walks for pax, inefficient use of apron area, badly designed baggage handling system are a few that comes to mind. You can see how T1, T2A-C, T2E-F, and L-M gates are all evolved, better versions of each other. (Original plan was to build five of the T1-type rotundas.)
