Skandalakis is familiar with a chunk of the investigative file in this case. Last year, he reviewed Willis' evidence against Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who served as a Trump elector. He declined to pursue charges

The decision casts doubt on the future of the last remaining criminal prosecution of Trump. A nonpartisan state agency will now try to find another prosecutor to determine how to proceed with the sweeping racketeering case against Trump and his allies.
