Might also be a good time to remind Ross Chilton + Minister Malcolmson that Shane Simpson (the new CLBC Board Chair) was the Minister responsible for CLBC from 2017-2020. Florence Girard died of STARVATION in 2018. CLBC just recycles the same people 💰. #bcpoli #clbc

CLBC receives $1.7-billion dollars from the Ministry of Social Development + Poverty Reduction, that’s 1/3 of the Ministry’s budget. The executive team never seems to miss a pay raise, yet adults with developmental + intellectual disabilities are not getting the supports they desperately need.

Making matters worse is the ugly fear-mongering Joanne Mills from CLBC stated in the same news report. She suggests the people CLBC serves would be ‘reinstitutionalized’ should CLBC be moved back into government. This is a lie. #bcpoli #clbc 4/4

Most people don't know what CLBC does and frankly, it seems like Minister Malcolmson doesn’t understand "the people CLBC serves". Florence Girard starved to death, she didn't know how to tell the Minister or CLBC she was being neglected. #bcpoli #clbc 3/4

The Minister’s words are irresponsible + cause harm. Many people with developmental + intellectual disabilities are non-verbal. Many have a cognitive disability + don't understand layers of paperwork or how to track down a Minister to share their negative experience. #bcpoli 2/4
