Very excited to get my friend John Davis’s new book in the mail. As someone who was also introduced to punk rock through mix tapes in the 90s, this is a fun read.

The annual @cwsoftballgame is coming up on July 16. This year I am playing for my friend Dr. Patricia Gaffney, who has metastatic breast cancer. The game raises money for the @youngsurvivalcoalition, which helps young women facing breast cancer. Buy tix: www.gofevo.com/event/2025CWSG

The musical tributes are also of note. Of course, you’ve heard of Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood. They will sing Carter’s favorite song “Imagine” by John Lennon. The lyrics are resonant with Carter’s life’s work. Carter met the country superstars through their work for Habitat for Humanity. 4/

All of the living US presidents are expected to be here, including President-elect Donald Trump. President Biden is the only one delivering remarks. He goes way back with Carter to the 1970’s when Biden was the first national political figure to endorse Carter’s run for the presidency. 2/

There’s one notable difference between the Trump transition ethics agreement and the one the Harris campaign signed. There’s a whole section about the nominee/president-elect avoiding conflicts of interest. Trump’s transition ethics agreement doesn’t have that paragraph. 3/3
