I would really like to go back to a time in my life when I could care less who the nominee of any certain secretary position was. I just trusted the politicians to do the right thing.

The Hegseth hearing is doing one thing incredibly well: it’s establishing that when his leadership at DoD fails, it’ll be clear that GOP Senators knew, excused it, and they own it. Serious concerns about experience & judgment are literally being laughed off.
