I just got the new Anna Von Hausswolff album, and it is sublime! Her sound is described as gothic, but it's gothic like a brutalist cathedral; woodwinds, strings, and synths make every song feel monolithic while the pipe organ pushes it all upward

Today is one of my favorite days! We saw some great presentations about mass casualties, the process of identifying unknown human remains, and signifiers of elder abuse. Lunch at the little Brazillian café down the street was a bonus.

If you love Kafka and Borges, try some Dino Buzzati. His short stories are delightful little capsules of satire, absurdity, and surrealism. The End of the World and The Saucer Has Landed are my favorites so far!
