Following Kendrick's performance yesterday seems like a good time to quote Toni Morrison's essay.

Most of us will never have platforms like either of theirs, but that doesn't mean we can't also create meaningful, powerful, subversive, and rebellious art.

I'm working at HUD (Dept. of Housing and Urban Development).
Or mission literally includes building "inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination." Which, of course, is antithetical to any language the new regime is using.

Do you ever hear someone else's voice as your thoughts? Right now, Alan Rickman is narrating mine (at least, those thoughts that have words). I'm not sure why, but it's weird. 🤷‍♀️

I keep going back and forth on this. Right now, I like it. That could change tomorrow. But, ya know, art helps keep us grounded and sane. It's important to create, even when we're not particularly good at it. Maybe especially then.

But, yeah, right now I'm digging how the leaves turned out. 🥰

One of the most dangerous things about where I live is that there are three ice cream shops within a five- minute walk.

Today was the first time I've come across calla lilies growing in the wild. 😊

Did anyone else's family call Swiss cheese "mouse cheese"? I thought it was a common colloquialism, but a co-worker had no idea what I was talking about when I described my sandwich as having mouse cheese.

Oh my gosh, those sweaters were so amazing! I went to a Laika exhibit at the Portland art museum and those really caught my attention.

A former coworker just sent this because she loves it and thinks everyone should read it. The best sorts of friends are book-giving friends. 🧡

Y'know that thing where you can't grasp the right word for something, so your brain creates something descriptive? A moment ago I couldn't come up with the term "washing dishes," so I my brain filled in that I was doing "food laundry."

My holiday masks arrived today.

I got a nice picture of the little travel menorah tonight, so I thought I'd add it too this one so we could see it nearly all lit, too.
(The candle holders are magnetic, so they can be rearranged but stay put otherwise.)

I recently moved and could only bring a carload of stuff, so I have my little travel menorah. Mixed family, so it's in front of the little Christmas tree.

I've now been living here for a month and finally sought out a coffee shop to work at. I tried a couple with outdoor seating so I could avoid crowds and remove my mask. I think I've found the one I'll frequent. Yay! 😃 They have pastries, sandwiches, tamales, all the expected drinks, plus more. 😋

Day one of my Tiesta Teas advent calendar: Fireside Spice. This is a delicious blend of fruity and spicy. I first tried it without sugar, but, like many fruit teas, adding a touch of sugar broughtout more depth in those flavors. Would recommend. 😋☕️

Umm, while technically it adheres to the "strong password rules," is this really the "good" example you want to use in your training? Surely you could have come up with a better example (for those not sure, C is the "correct" answer here).
