I’m still mad about Farmer Maggot’s mushrooms. I have very happy memories of rising early to scrump mushrooms from a farmer’s field and then frying up masses w butter and salt, why would anyone nick CARROTS?!

It’s not all data centers—there has also been a ton of development. But we’ve been in drought conditions pretty steadily for the past few years in this part of the US.

I had a really nice pair of homesick young men come by and play with my hyperactive puppy in my yard. Was genuinely sorry when they went home to Arizona.

When we lived in Pewsey, people would leave baby socks they’d found around the village on my doorstep. My son was fiendishly good at shoving his socks off, and there would always be at least one old-timer letting me know on our walks that THAT BABY has bare feet!

Explain to me how your reasoning differs from the old “it’s the fault of their mothers for raising them like that.” There’s pretty clearly a strong hereditary link, and overlap with conditions like hypermobility suggests a genetic link we haven’t isolated yet.

New Zealand is the same. There’s a venomous spider there which came over from Australia, but they don’t even have snakes.
