And to round out the custom support, two traps. One offers recovery from all the battle you're doing, plus another way to weaken the opponent with every fight. Meanwhile, Pull Counter completes the missing set of negates for the deck while giving a much-needed normal summon for some effects.

One last monster to add. Mauler is not only a searcher, but also seals potential problems in the spell/trap zone. The "battlin'" boxers should be focused on battling, yeah? So eliminate some distractions, and punch the other guy real hard. Easy

The Boxer deck has a weird track record with its leveled monsters. It's a Rank 4 engine, with one level 2 modulator, but also mysteriously includes level 3's? And they're mostly one-off handtraps.

So I added 2 more, along with Palooka who can recycle them for repeated use

My main idea with this custom support was to lean in on a "3 rounds, KO" strategy. Multiple barrages of attacks per turn to wear down the opponent. Toe-to-Toe allows for an opening exchange, no real losses for either side, while Knockdown presses the offensive much harder

Custom Cards: Battlin' Boxer

It's punchy boys! I actually really like battlin' boxer, mostly because of their appearance in Zexal. Outside of the big beatstick bosses, the deck is meant to function as a counter-strategy, tricking and outlasting the opponent rather than overpowering them

No work today, so it's a rainbow knee-highs kinda day

Aha! The boy, he is powerful

And finally, for the boss strategy of the deck. Both boss monsters are actually still pretty decent, even by modern standards, with the biggest issue being just actually summoning them.

The spell card has options to help either boss onto the field, while the trap acts as an extra avenue and shield

So first up, added some searchers. The Venom deck uses monsters with generally low attack, so Hatchling paired with the field spell works to even things out a bit.

Mamba also acts as a potential searcher, and on field it functions to punish the opponent for removing monsters from the field early

Custom Cards: Venom

This is the last batch I already had in the works. Venoms only appeared for one duel in Gx, which is a shame because they make for a decent villain playstyle, and reptiles are already so under-supported as it is

Look at them. They're neat
March 12, 2025 at 3:11 PM
And finally, the new big boss monster. Monarchboard fixes the biggest issue of the rank 7 boss, being that using the deck's Xyz climbing renders the Digital Bugs beneath them dead; this way, you don't have to rely on the trap card to get the bonus effects for your bigger monsters.

Virutyger, along with Uplink, are designed as an answer to Link monsters for the deck. Not a perfect counter, obviously, but it gives them a fighting chance.

Recycling Bug also acts as another point of recursion. The existing Xyz monsters work best in tandem, so more field presence is a must.

Wi-Firefly and Modemantis both double down on the deck's control strategy, but since their effects are actually decent they have to be triggered by a position change, similar to Centibit and LEDybug.

First off, Terbyte and Reboot Admiral. I wanted to play around with level modulation while also giving the deck a little searching power, and Terbyte finally offers the boss monsters a layer of protection

Custom Cards: Digital Bug

I am a lover of silly little guys, no matter how bad they actually are to play. And considering their best monster is a Galaxy card, I figured it would be fair to give them a boost.

I don't engage the way I should. The way I wish I was. I've never really grown out of the little kid sitting at the edge of the playground, watching everyone else from the outside.
But I see other people shining so bright, creating, laughing, and for a second, I feel at home. And I think, "me too".

I finally, FINALLY got my room back, mostly in order. I have so much cute Halloween stuff, I needed a full display

Hey! If anyone out there is interested, I'd love an excuse to play Master Duel more. I can't promise I'm any good, but if you're looking to just mess around I am so down for it

Spells and traps next. Mainly more consistency, but I also wanted to play into the battle focus of the deck and give a little boost towards the field spell's final effect. Shuffling literally everything back to your opponent's deck is crazy, but with the current deck it's basically impossible
January 29, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Monsters are tricky. The main deck is already solid, and they cover 01-10 on the level scale if you include Jet. Repeating levels was unavoidable, but I think slipping it in the Extra Deck still helps to keep the theme going

Also, Kyohma and Yuna are great. Love their designs.

I've been workshopping a potential sona (I've wanted one for a while). I think I have him as close as I'm gonna get with Heroforge's limits. It's a little patchy and not quite the right colors, but it's nice to have a visual
