Speaker Johnson has already noted that he may not gavel in the House until after the holiday break, thus pocket ending the session instead of formally doing so. The house is currently on recess, but if it is not reconveined by the 2nd week of December, it will close by default. 4 months out...

All renovations, alterations, and changes to the White House are supposed to be cleared through the USNPS (National Park Service) if I remember correctly. He is bypassing it at every turn because he has no intention of leaving the White House.
