Breed temperament really is a thing. I've had persians my whole life, and now I have my first maine coon, and the difference in demeanor is huge. They're all wonderful but very different.

Ambystoma complex salamanders! Some species have males and females, but some species are solely female, then mate with males of the other species to poach genes, but will only produce more females of their species.
