Just started The Three-Body Problem and enjoying it but it has that thing where the sci-fi is realistic enough and it’s written in such a matter of fact way that I have to keep checking what is real. I think it’s written pre LHC and Higgs Boson??

Went to a Ren Fair yesterday! It was a block from my house, so G and I walked down to the fair in character 😁

Why did no one tell me The Catcher in the Rye is about an ADHD kid who desperately needs Ritalin 10 years before it’s invented, 30 years before anyone knew what ADHD was?

Can’t get over how many people through history thought Holden was cool 😅

Sicily Day 1 (Club Med) - spent most of the day travelling but had the most amazing buffet for dinner - it was Italian themed and they had a whole display of gluten free food (and pistachio butter I had on ice cream but could have eaten with a spoon!)

Prague Day 3 - went to a board game store, got some Koh-i-Noor pastels from their homeland, had a breakdown, found a gluten free bakery, packed and repacked, had cake for dinner, gave in to the mini bar.

Berlin Day 2 - Google alerted me an hour before we meant to leave for our walking tour that we had to leave NOW because of unusual traffic. After a bit of a rush, we made it in time thanks to the u-bahn! It felt really surreal to see these sights. 1/2

The Hague Day 1 (same day)
Our hotel, which dates back to the 1800s Me with the gorgeous hotel gallery in the background. It has a metal and glass roof and lots of pretty architectural details I don’t know the words for View out our window - we lucked out and got a view even though I booked a room with no view. It’s near sunset and you can see the ocean, beach and people on the beach in the distance Selfie of us with view our room window in background - I’m in a hotel bath robe ready for a long hot bath.

Amsterdam Day 4, - we checked out, put our bags in storage for the day (EXPENSIVE) and had another day in Amsterdam before heading on to The Hague at about 5.
Another beautiful, hot day in Amsterdam. This is a view of some house boats on a canal. The bright blue sky and green trees are reflected in the water. We found a Waterstones and I bought 3 books I don’t have bag space for (that I couldn’t find in SA). This is a pic of a table full of books with a backdrop of shelves of books. We went to the Lego store and they had a Lego Portrait of Rembrandt (and some other cool stuff). We made minifigs of ourselves at the Lego store. This is me (with a gluten free croissant I obtained in real life and a pirate hat I did not). They print the shirt in store so I gave my minifig the shirt I was wearing (can’t u fortunately change the sleeves)

Amsterdam Day 3 - canal cruise, the Red Light district and shopping! Feet are so sore. Weather couldn’t have been better.
