Well, your post inspired me to actually do something about it. I removed the locking mechanism. 30mins, a bit fiddly, especially getting the connector pin back in during reassembly (see video), but is soooo much better now. Still plenty of force to hold the plug in. 10/10, would mod again.

I have a BTB805MS and this stupid jack thing is the *only* thing I don't like about it, especially because it is active so you have to unplug it after use. I should probably look into modifying it or replacing it.
