Haven't you, a Disney adult, heard that truth is dead?

Completely agree with you otherwise. There are stacks of affordable indies out there doing way more interesting things.

Oh man, really? I’ll have to do my homework on that, I guess.

I agree with the fast food aspect of it, but it’s also a clear enough trend that I think it warrants at least some degree of curiosity. Don’t use it to dunk on anyone, I agree. But seems worth asking “why”.

Sure seems like it. One of the largest post-WWII mythos, Star Wars, is an ouroboros at this point, although maybe it always was. Also curious about what meme culture means for all this. Is it even possible to escape?

Totally. It's been "fun" to witness the intensity and frequency of that iteration over the last few years, at least in film. There was a nice period where people could remix or reference things without it feeling overdone. I'm really curious to see where things go from here.

Fair point. Maybe they persist because they’re the product of early popular culture, and more embedded in our general storytelling than others? I also wonder if WWII rewired culture in some significant ways that I’m not qualified to speculate on =)

Maybe the world just got too small? There’s a lot less space for mystery than there used to be.

Someone will run the numbers at some point. A consistent rate of lost Dem votes across swing states would be suspicious but it’s hard to imagine a scheme that could achieve that.

This is a clear omen from the gods on high, and congrats on the good news.

Wow. I was playing a lot when Harambe happened and saw all the memes in chat, but never made that connection. Not surprising at all but…yeesh.

The Ringo thing is funny but this quote is incredible: “The Catholics have a religion based on fear, smoke, and murder.”

Maybe it's just that there is no actual connection between the two data points he's using. I guess he's saying that the R count was up by 400k+ from the 2020 baseline, but yeah, he doesn't say anything about what the D count is. And somehow that relates to the margin of Biden's win? 🤷‍♂️

I am genuinely curious to hear more about why he's wrong.

Did you look through your phone's camera? That can help you see it better, I think it can be hard with the naked eye.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm seeing it at the perfect time for me (similar struggles) and I really appreciate it.

Read that passage at the end of the section, put the book down, picked up the phone, saw your post. It was one of those small magical moments =)

I never post on here, but I literally just read that passage and couldn’t let the coincidence pass unremarked upon. It’s been a pleasure re-reading the trilogy and I’m really looking forward to Absolution!
