I kind of like the flow of my sentences when I do speech-to-text. Many of them read like something I wouldn’t have been able to just type from my thoughts.

Yes, I think every educator has seen that at least a dozen times in PD sessions. Thank you for posting. However, nothing I said is denigrating the importance of positive relationships.

What my post argues is “building relationship” is not a classroom management technique to hang your hat on.

Merit/demerit system. Assigned seating. All desks facing the front. Routines for how to enter the class. Routines for how to turn in assignments. Repeating expectations every day. Holding to those expectations for all students. Early communication with parents. Just to name a few.

This one might be my favourite though because it addresses something I think is really important - the policy agenda of last 14 years has reduced subject-specificity in #ITT #ITE to such an extent that it threatens the ecology of our system.
