My go to preparation when I'm not feeling up to anything fancy:
Cook noodles, drain off most of the water, add about a Tbsp of salted butter, add seasonings as desired.
The butter emulsifies with the starch in the noodle water, makes a slightly creamy sauce that coats the noodles well.
