I enjoyed welcoming Leadership Lake Martin to the Tallapoosa County Courthouse to discuss the role of the Probate Court and what public service as Probate Judge truly means. It remains an unquestionable honor to serve Tallapoosa County.

2010, Rose Bowl. I asked for no photo with singers or celebrities. Only with Cecil Hurt. I had been raised on mother’s stories of Alf Van Hoose and Clyde Bolton’s words, so I understood that I was meeting the rightful heir to Alabama sportswriting. A giant, now missed.

A powerful moment as Governor Kay Ivey arrives for her final State of the State with Judge Bill Cole, Judge Mary Windom (R-Tallapoosa County), and Chief Justice Sarah Stewart in the foreground. Alabama is truly blessed with jurists of honor and integrity. All three great friends.

Before we get to 2026 AM ball, here are a few photos from my post-Christmas jaunt to Mexico with a few friends. Everyone was very kind, and Riveria Maya was very beautiful.

Great start for Miami in the Cotton Bowl. Did someone in Arlington get Michael Irvin pharmaceuticals yet?

If you’d like to treat yourself to something cool while in California, check out Alta in West Adams. Chef Keith Corbin’s great-grandmother is from Alabama.

You see, the devil haunts a hungry man

If you don't wanna join him, you gotta beat him

I ain't sayin' I beat the devil, but I drank his beer for nothing

Then I stole his song

I was raised on the idea that Alabama’s trip to Pasadena in 1926 didn’t just change a game. It changed how the South was allowed to see itself. With Alabama returning for the 100-year anniversary, I may attempt to explain that. Holidays are very busy.

If you’ve never been to the Rose Bowl, you should go at least once. The setting is iconic and beautiful. The place itself is kind of a dump, and it’s not near anything. We stayed in an L.A. Red Roof Inn.

Did someone say Rose Bowl?

Never forget that these cowards didn’t want us in the Rose Bowl anymore.

I never watch the NFL, but it’s neat seeing Philip Rivers coach at St. Michael Catholic and all of sudden quarterbacking the Colts on Sunday.
