i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid

The person’s neck is partially severed, and blood pours from the wound upwards towards their eyes. Their chest is bare, and their lung veins glow beneath their skin. They’re wearing fabric around their waist, along with some hanging jewels and a metallic/golden plate that depicts a lion surrounded by stars & a sideways crescent moon.
The antelope’s rear left leg is partially cut off, and there is a network of ropes & fabric tied around the stump. These strands of fabric, along with a bunch that are tied to the person’s right wrist, blow wildly in the wind.
Behind the entire scene is a grey, storm-like background. There are glowing cave paintings of horses, cows, and antelope along the bottom of the image.
