I was also going to suggest sinigang. We prefer a pork sinigang, sometimes we do salmon. (I learned from my filipino spouse)

I forgot the big part! The technology macguffin isnt creating a person, its literally pulling them into our reality. (Or making a duplicate copy?) Infinite multiverse or whatever.

Obviously, things could be shifted around to get an impact, surprise the early audience with the newest Bond film without telling them its a bond film.

Hell, name it "Bond Legacy, Q" or something. Make it a "side story". The movie is half about the smart kid that is going to become the new Q.

Really push the side story angle in the advertisements if they have to. Call it "bond legacy: Q or something.

All I'm saying is theres PLENTY of angles they could take and stay in the same continuity.

Cut to the new M, still getting used to their position, has a packet of new codes to send out to the field agents after 007 died.
His phone rings. It says "007". He picks up, new bond gives the correct codes that havent been sent out yet.

"That cant be... You died."
New bond: "i dont think so?"

Theyre driving away, escaping. Smart kid asks "okay, who the hell are you!?"

Guy responds: "oh right, names Bond, James Bond."

ROLL THE OPENING CREDITS 1/3rd of the way into the run-time.

Smart kid speaks out. Watches their coworkers that speak out get scolded/captured/imprisoned/killed. decides they need a hero, a real super-spy type. Sneaks to the machine, puts in the data for what they need to fix their mistake. Guy comes through, helps them escape.

Behind the scenes. Just like. The worst rich dickhead. Starts doing really Evil shit behind the scenes.

Smart kid knows that the tech isnt creating a person. But rich asshole doesnt care.

That or you go with a new storyline/continuity. Which would be EVEN EASIER. Because you can start anywhere, in any time period. Make any changes you want.

Make him a "good person on a bad team" guy that gets recruited into mi6. He's working FOR the bad guys.

You have SO MANY OPTIONS.

Then you hit the "reporting in."
Designation? "007. Bond, James Bond. Oh, and tell 'M' they were right. It's much easier when they think I'm dead"

Options from here:
Bond wins, gets control of the truck, and reports in.

Bond loses, gets captured by 2nd person in truck, but its a misdirect, 2nd person is working with bond. (Maybe a return of other 00-agents working together?) Then he reports in.

Cue a fight scene as the truck driver tries to get in the truck, back and forth, until the guy manages to get away, except bond is on the side of the truck.

Leading to a fight in the cab, back and forth, driving a precarious route, almost going off the edge of the road, etc.

Cut to someone handing off truck keys and leaving, new bond gets up and mingles a moment before following.

Cuts of bad guy going through crowded areas, losing bond. Until he gets to the truck in a warehouse and theres bond.
