Proud union activist, and gen-x nerd. Unabashedly leftist.

"You ain't done nothing if you ain't been called a red."
Protectionist tariffs were put in place, further increasing the cost of common goods, and causing a chain reaction of crashing markets. Russia was engaged in a prolonged war with its neighbors, greatly affecting food and fuel prices. (3)

Around the world people were told to fear the strikers. Fear the unions. Fear “the left”. People felt hopeless amidst an economy that they didn't feel was working for them. Austerity was the message of the day. Cut government spending! (2)

Yes. So any private company that owns the rights to run the postal service has a captive market, the US government. DeJoy will be right back as the CEO and get to charge the government for the privilege.

Only with just cause. Much like the Investigator general he fired, the firing is subject to review. He doesn't care about that though. He fires them, they sue for wrongful termination, and without an injunction he still gets to do what he wants until the case is heard.

The American public is still too comfortable. They have their little videos to distract and food in their bellies. It's not gotten bad enough that they've become desperate. We don't have Hoovervilles full of homeless, angry vets. Yet.

They aren't? They aren't getting much coverage, but they certainly haven't been quiet. The media for the most part has jumped all in on the fascist propaganda bandwagon.

It's often just a choice between which oligarchs you want to pay for the privilege of having food anyway.

I was in an Italian restaurant in DC a couple years ago when I saw Matt Gaetz leaving the establishment. He had a girl with him that looked to be very young (but to be fair most of the staffers are young college kids). They were a bit cozy for her to be a staffer though.

Everything he has ever conspiracy-griped about the opposition doing to him, is something we have later found out he has done, is currently doing, or really wanted to do but couldn't get away with it. Therefore, I would be very unsurprised if he tampered with the election.

He's been threatening CBS. So they're kissing his ass. Nothing new here.

Dystopian Anarcho-Capitalist Cyber-Punk Shogunate with a side of Theocratic Police State then?

I'm an American that studied in Saskatchewan in the 90s. This is hilarious, but the Canadian government has been largely ineffective so far. They could really hurt the US with retaliatory tariffs, but it would likely give the conservatives a win in Canadian elections.

This is a beautiful Memorial very close to the Hill right across from the Teamsters HQ.

It will depend on what type of games you enjoy. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom were both excellent games that kept my focus. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was great, with good replayability and multiple story lines.

I've had a switch since it released. Some really good games on it.
