Should we over-comsume such terrible content? No, it makes us numb and damages our mental health. But we can’t outright ignore it, either.

Simply being vegan does not earn us the privilege to ignore the cruelty being perpetrated. Seeing the reality reminds us that just refusing to consume animal products isn’t enough. We need to continue to influence others to change. Seeing graphic footage challenges our complacency.

Counter-intuitively, I think that’s exactly why the ads work so well. Most transphobic people have never met a real trans person, so they can be painted as these evil monsters and blamed for all sorts of societal problems with no counter argument.

Don’t ever underestimate selfishness, racism, misogyny, homophobia again. It dominates everything else going on in most people’s mush-for-brains, apparently.
