I like, I know about, I talk about a few things: classic movies especially film noir, some reality TV, non-profit leadership, miles run

My list is subject to change without notice.

Nonprofit transitions aren’t black & white, they’re noir.
My 1st short story, The Founder’s Fall, drops this month. Interim leader Kassandra Hollingsworth thinks she’s cleaning up a messy grant. Instead, she walks into secrets, shadows, and a gala that turns deadly.

Change is a constant in nonprofits, yet we struggle to manage & implement changes effectively.
This week I’m naming a framework I’ve used for years: MACT™. Simple, practical, made for small to midsize nonprofits that need results. #Nonprofitsky

Nonprofit change never asks if you’re ready: staff resigns, funding dips, a new leader arrives. Too often, it sparks rumors & fear instead of action. I’ve been refining a way to make change intentional. Tomorrow, I’m naming it. 👀

Damn it, Eddie Muller. You dragged me, kicking, screaming, & squinting, into #NoirAlley this time with Rififi.
Subtitles at 11:00 PM?! I hate reading my noir, especially when I’m fully dramatic but half-asleep. But it was worth it. As promised, iconic caper flick. The heist scene, Chef’s kiss.

So #Mountainhead on HBO. I get the message. We are living the message. The callousness, the untethered reality, the disloyalty. Got it, but in terms of what I actually watched, what the hell happened?

I am intentionally shifting toward honesty by replacing “I don't understand” with “I don't agree”.

#SisterWives needs to post a list of off the table topics before every episode so I can set my expectations accordingly. There is no way we are 2 episodes into this reunion & he hasn't been asked when was the last time he saw Truely.

Everyone on #SisterWives needs to be banned from accusing others of gaslighting because they don't understand what it means and they overuse the term to the point that its meaningless.

The sector's gotta DEFEND its existence now?! Unreal. It's not enough to say WHAT we do; we have to prove WHY it matters. On #501cDay, let's commit to impact, value, & advocacy. Thanks to #NonprofitConnect #NonprofitStrong #NoMoreExcuses"

Wrapped up my time in the #TwinCities with a full heart. Met some truly heart-minded people, immersed in a culture of equity, kindness & coffee. This community aligns with my values—I’ll be back to serve & support the #nonprofit sector here soon.

I'm a little over 2 weeks into this month-long, cross-country road trip and so far: I've run 10 miles & earned a medal, interviewed for my 1st Interim ED role, been impressed by the layout of the Ohio turnpike, & realized that the song Buttah Love is not in fact about love at all.

I came, I ran, I medaled. Now, I have a date with Chinese food, compression sleeves, and a shower. Not in that order! See ya later #CherryBlossom10miler

I'm road tripping right now & have access to #BeyondtheGates This is a really soapy show with all of the intrigue & shenanigans as the soaps I sat on the end of the bed & watched with my granny.

Sometimes you just have to ask—why? The Senate voted to strike down a rule capping most bank overdraft fees at $5, a measure introduced by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that was expected to save Americans billions each year.
