The home of the football Hoosiers has a new name.

IU fans, meet Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium.

The naming rights deal is worth $50 million over 20 years. It also includes financial literacy courses for Hoosier athletes so they can manage their NIL income.

Downtown Indy construction update: the old CSX building across from Gainbridge Fieldhouse is now rubble.

The 13-story Shinola Hotel and a 4,000 seat concert hall managed by Live Nation will rise on the site.

Go Pacers.

Indiana weather. Sun on one side, doom on the other.

Good Lord, Pacers.

Indianapolis progress: the quickly-rising Signia Hotel is starting to make its presence known in the downtown skyline.

23 of the 38 floors are done and it will rise more than 400 feet in the sky when it is topped out this fall.

The end is here for (part of) Circle Centre Mall.

The southern half of the mall is now closed for good as it prepares for redevelopment.

A sad day in Fishers. Hamilton Southeastern football star Mason Alexander is being laid to rest after he was killed in a car crash this month.

He was a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. His teammates made the trip to the service to pay their respects.

I do some outrageous things to get Indiana’s attention sometimes…like pretending to be Lionel Messi for 15 seconds.

In case you're wondering, Carmel/Hamilton County does have *some* kind of public transportation: Hamilton County Express, which is not actually operated by the county.

Ridership has increased, but it recorded as many rides in one year as IndyGo's Red Line has in a month.

If you live in Carmel and want to take the city's transportation and mobility survey, all the info to do so is right here.
February 20, 2025 at 12:15 AM
The phrases "Carmel, Indiana" and "public transportation" don't normally go together, but the city is now asking its residents if it should consider adding mass transit options.

People in Indy know Indiana Avenue was the center of Black history and culture...but they also know how it was mostly hollowed out and demolished through urban renewal.

I dug through the archives and found this piece from 1986. It's jarring to hear how Indiana Avenue was described then vs. now.

Happy Valentine’s Day from the heart of Indy.

It has taken years of planning and persistence but the Blue Line, Indianapolis’ next bus rapid transit project, is about to break ground.

Check the picture for details: IndyGo hopes to start building the BRT by the end of the month.

Will I be the only DePaul fan at Butler today?

Probably, but I don’t care. School spirit won out.

The place where a jail once stood will soon become Caitlin Clark's domain.

I looked into why the Indiana Fever are building a $78 million practice facility next to their arena.

There’s big money in women’s basketball.

The Indiana Fever will soon build a $78 million headquarters and practice facility on the site of the Marion County Jail, which is currently being torn down.
