How they kept all that a secret until the age of DNA testing, I’ll never know. My great grandmother’s sister lived with them and their children after my aunt had the baby (shown on 1930 census,) which is crazy to me. My aunt and my gr-grandfather thought they took that secret to the grave.

I’m my family’s genealogist. Many of my mom’s aunts and cousins did Ancestry DNA tests. I was able to confirm that my maternal great grandfather had an affair with his wife’s sister, who was in love with him, when she was 16 (!), and had a son with her that they put up for adoption (in 1924.)
