This is the Maple Leafs' first five game losing streak since April 2021, a span of more than 4.5 years.
They had only done it three times in the 10 seasons of the Matthews era before now.

The Maple #Leafs played much better with actual effort and some cohesion, but a loss is a loss, 3-2 to the #Blackhawks. Toronto's winless streak is now 5. Buds' three stars? #Woll, #Robertson and #Cowan.

Most of the #Leafs have at least skated harder and with an inkling of purpose. They've even made a handful of short, clever passes. But ALWAYS giving away the points without closing on these guys will kill you, as it did on the #Blackhawks' third goal. 3-2 Chicago with 3 minutes left in regulation.

Over the last decade, #Leafs management has not only drafted poorly, but traded away valuable picks for either temporary help, mediocre players or both. The #AHL Marlies don't have a single player that could bolster the big club right now. Thanks again, #Shanahan, #Dubas and #Treliving. #LeafsNation

This #Leafs thing is a complete own-goal bonfire created by #Shanahan, #Dubas and #Treliving. @jtbourne.bsky.social made a great point about #Treliving's penchant for size, but failing to do proper due diligence on the actual grit of these big guys (see #Carlo, #Roy, #Joshua ).
