I prepared some illustrative maps of the event. AFAIK, power plant workers now commute by special non-public train from Chernihiv.
The environs of the Chernobyl power plant. Pripyat is immediately to the northwest, Kyiv is some distance to the south. Near the nuclear power plant itself, there is an electrical substation, the remains of a conventional power station, and the Semykhody railway station provided for commuting workers. A tall chimney in the centre of the plant can be seen in the foreground of that footage. The drone struck the northwest corner of the New Safe Containment dome, which encloses the Sarcophagus and Reactor Unit 4. A large-scale map of the area. Pripyat and Chernobyl are to the north and slightly west of Kyiv, at the other end of a large reservoir. Chernihiv, where power station workers now live, is north-north-east of Kyiv. The railway connecting the two runs through the extreme corner of Belarus.
