Damn that's a big package. I know 1 little hack I've used for work, dunno if it'll work here. If you send a smaller package via UPS with an account (say to the other Canadian) and then wait a couple weeks, they'll see you have a non-zero shipping volume and give a discount of like, 30% I think?

I can promise you they are. The number of times Canada Post has fucked up my packages both sending and receiving is way too damn high.
