Space stuff. I think. Halfway through season 2 and all I can think about is that A: it’s an inch away from being awesome but just falls short of it and B: the spinny disk thing the Discovery does when it jumps is ridiculous even by sci fi standards.

Stuff has happened, lifestyle has changed and now I find it very hard to make myself do any sort of social media. Bluesky is the only social app I have on my phone. Good to see some old friends on here after what happened to Twitter

It is for real! That was the golden age of LA’s session players. These people were so in the zone that to them saving the songs of a multi platinum artist while making pop history was probably just a Wednesday afternoon.

Steve brought along Jeff Porcaro (TOTO’s drummer) who made his own metronome to MJ’s rudimentary rhythm track and then proceeded to overdub a new drum take. Steve played all the rhythm guitars and bass; in a one day session, the song was saved and that’s what you hear on the album.

They did more than that. The tape boy accidentally erased all of the first recording of ‘Beat It’. Q called Steve Lukather (TOTO’s guitarist) and asked for help. At that point the song was just MJ’s vocals, Eddie’s guitar solo and MJ playing 2 and 4 on a drum case.

Sure, sure. Enough now and keep shovelling coal in the furnace. This wonky airship won’t fly on its own

I haven’t heard your music yet, but that is a pretty, pretty guitar.
Sincerely happy for you.

Uh uh. I know! Jeff Porcaro (RIP) one of the finest drummers to ever touch sticks went to the New York World fair when he was 11 and fell in love with Africa and its rhythms. The drum part in the song is him and Lenny Castro trying to replicate what fascinated him in the first place.

Hahahah. Fair enough. It is a bit trite.

Correction. Just done some tests and it’s a case of frequency masking. There is this generic, trite background music going on at all times that gets in the way of speech. Someone show these people the basic of sidechaining a multi band compressor
