American people are not with you. Your party just caved AGAIN. That is what Americans will remember, and they will vote accordingly.
Until you sort out your own party, America is bound to continue electing GOP because who would vote for their feckless, useless alternative.

Trump and the GOP win tonight and for the foreseeable, by the Dems beclowning themselves for no political or practical advantage whatsoever.
A sort of chocolate fireguard party, in its current configuration completely useless.

Needs the rest of the Senate Dems to have a spine to get rid of him. I don't think they possess one.

This is complete bullshit "analysis". Centrally, it does NOT "force Johnson to convene the house to vote on it." It does allow the GOP to give the impression they're being reasonable whilst delivering nothing. It demonstrates, for the 99th time, that the Dems have no spine.

This is spineless nonsense, selling out ACA for empty promise of a bill which will not pass the House, even in the unlikely event it passed in the Senate.
You should resign. You are not up to the job.

Any timeline on the arrival of decency; because this weekend's message seems to be more of the same Reform-serving bollocks: "Shabana Mahmood will model some of her new measures on the Danish system - seen as one of the toughest in Europe."

Yes. I'm gleaning Rhys's view that the S1 vs S127 choice is to forestall an Article 10 ECHR defence.

On current reckoning, they have no records for 1,434 Scottish memorials, which would be about 32% of the ~4,300 memorials & monuments marked on OpenStreetMap. I have not yet had the heart to tell them.

Anyway, I seem to have worked out how to wrangle Geograph searches to deliver tractable lists of memorials &c (subject to users having used suitable terms in their textual descriptions). I feel this may be the onset of yet more pain for my friends at Canmore.

No. Cause is always complex & multifaceted, takes time to resolve. Current indications give rise to suspicion it is something like a repeat of the AA191 crash; engine detaches, damages wing and control surfaces, leading to asymmetric stall.

And per AA191, this is asserted, albeit with caveats as to the reliability of the assertion, to be the No.1 engine from the UPS plane.

Another accident of note, fwiw, may be AA191, a 1979 DC-10 crash involving the sort of asymmetrical stall which seems to have affected this one.

More than the engine; top of the wing, so reminscent of the Paris Concorde crash in which a fuel tank has been punctured & ignited. Uncontained engine failure?

Agreed. London mostly had a narrow escape; many other communties were & remain properly scarred. And then there's the US which simply demolished huge swathes of cities, normally along racial lines.

I've been trawling the Angus and Aberdeenshire Historic Environment Record databases, and though these may not be representative of the quality and availability of other authorities, the difference in detail is night & day, to the point that I wonder whether Canmore makes any real contribution.

Was trying to ascertain proof of the exact position of this stone. (Think it's the one marked on old OS maps as 'standing stone', by the east avenue leading to the castle, but who knows.)
