"How much blood of the complacent bourgeois will stain the chopping blocks built on the very backs of the morally exhausted and financially drained they created, I wonder?"

- Iyolo Dorian IV, Renowned Bard and Grand Historian of the Celestian Archive

At the tail end of the 4th Aeon, large swaths of the northern ridge, the Aetheria Façade, were plagued by pockets of Decay that cropped up in major metropolitan and sizable rural townships.

These Phthisis Plagues caused massive damage to Val'ythis, Durak’tin, Herra, and the Red Mirae.

D'aetheyleid (day-they-laid) is a bastardized word of Lyn and Aetherian with a wide range of meanings and translations.

To many, D'aetheyleid was an ancient Draegon with Pearl or Opalescent scales that once seemed indestructible. It was first sighted over the historic fort Kairn-Mortaol long ago.

Arcana is the principal component of magic in Nauhoth.

It is an ethereal power bleeding in from fissures in Vayle. While a naturally occurring phenomenon, Arcanic seepage has ramped up significantly in recent centuries, causing concerns for Arcanists throughout Nauhoth.

The Hashaans are an ancient order with a sordid history stretching back to the First Aeon.

Initially a guild of strictly monster hunters resurrected from the ashes of the archaic elfen Blackguard, the Hys'shaani, after the Three Rebellions, they have morphed into a bounty hunting syndicate.

Aetherians (Draegons) are not native to Nauhoth.

The Fracture disrupted the ecosystem, blighting the lands with monstrosities and horrors that have ravaged the Quadrinent since.

It is theorized by Arcanists and scholars alike that the Aetherians broke the metaphysical boundaries of Vayle.

When the Aetherians invaded Nauhoth, they brought with them monsters and demons never seen by the Lyn.

Among them emerged a new and terrifying rot that persists to the modern day: Decay.

Decay is a rot that is antithetical to all living tissue and is indiscriminate in its lethality.

Val'ythis was once a nebulous stretch of warring draekin tribes until Farisaad the Omen-wake waged a decade long campaign, starting at age 16 to age 25, to unify the Vaethlyn under one banner.

In the Aeon of Fire, she established the kingdom and was coronated General Queen in 1st Aeon 34.

Terras (the continent at the heart of TAF and the Blackwater Tales) is a multicultural melting pot of Lyn and Lem alike.

Being so diverse, the tenuous political peace time is buckling under high tensions, as the High King of Aeternia threatens a territorial push into Ael'athsyn, home of the Aelyn.

Lore thread 1:
The seat of power in Nauhoth, the main setting of (the upcoming) The Aetherian Fracture, has changed hands many times.

First being ruled by the Andeilyn, a now-extinct race of elves, then conquered by the Aetherians (invading dragons), it's now shared by Lyn and Lem (humans) alike.

TAF as a series is set in the realm of Nauhoth, where species of human and elf are distinguished by the species of Lem or Lyn, respectively.

Elves (and their related kin), dwarves, and draekin all share blood of Lyn, and by extension are considered 'elfen'.
