(Grew up in AL) I must have been one of the last to get it then....graduated late 80s. Also had it in college and yes, you are correct, if they had it they would know this is NOT right. But even I don't know what to do other than call elected officials. It doesn't seem like enough.

2/2 the organization of the boycott, the car pools, the arrests of many, the charges against MLKJr, the bombing of his house, the peaceful way they protested, and the Supreme Court Decision. I choked up several times reading this happened 2.5 hours from my home. Amazing fortitude.

This can be a 'both/and' moment. Support small business and support libraries. Library is mentioned bc some need budget-friendly way to keep adding more books to their list. Most book lovers also will buy books. So let's not fight about how or the type of reco... All 💜 reading. Focus on that :)

Most understand it isn't that different, just nuanced. Went eyes wide open to RN (and anarchists at that moment). We understand that gov is different. Agree, but we sure could use his support and backing to get the right 'everyday person of the people' in power. Maybe throw his weight behind someone like Pete B!

Can't stop our voices. We refuse to be silenced. And we refuse to stop engaging (globally). We will keep going to the places where we can speak until propaganda (or heavy advertising...or both) take over. Maybe this place will be good for a while.

But maybe you can help all of us who hated that stuff and didn't consume it, better navigate the real world now. I nominate you as one of our troop leaders now. Can I get a 2nd?

And...budget conscious can at least (at first before purchase) check out books from library. Then if speaks to you, spend your money on the book. Also libraries have audio if you want to cover more ground faster by listening on drive etc.

Yes. Smart. I started my banned book purchases and I buy from smaller book stores not Amazon or other big stores.
