There are a few stories in Metamorphoses that have some strong women. Philomena and and Procne are involved in some utterly brutal revenge.

But, on the other hand, no one gets it worse than Io or the myriad of women who are assaulted and then turned into flowers.

I love Madea as a character for this reason. Jason would be nothing without her.

Odysseus is similarly propped up by the women around him whether that be Athena, Circe, or Penelope.

Expecting a book like Harry Potter to present that argument with any kind of nuance is a bit of a fool's errand. It's ultimately a children's book where the overarching theme is Love conquers Evil.

There's something to authors presenting racist characters as a different kind of victim separate from who they're oppressing to show that very few people directly benefit from subjugating others based on race. A character like Arnold Ridgeway in the Underground Railroad comes to mind.

From my recollection, stoning people was pretty typical advice.

Slipped on stairs, caught a hand railing to brace my fall and heard a large crack. Basically all my body weight on the bone. Not like 100% on the timeline, but it's a minor fracture so 6-12 weeks. Need to go to Ortho for the approx timeline.

"I never understood a spreadsheet before judging the Booker, and I never cared to learn, but we used them so much."

This is the least relatable sentence I've ever read.

Man, I wish y'all would've been around when Don't Hug Me I'm Scared was looking for funding. Feel like you guys would've done a much better job of promoting their stuff than Channel 4 did.

Turns out people don't like anything Republicans are doing now that they're governing again. Who would've thunk?

If only we could convince voters of this every few years, "Yes, It is going to be as bad as we say it will be."

If I had to venture a guess, I think Stoner's online popularity originated on 4chan. They have a list a books that gets circulated frequently. Another novel in the same vein would be No Longer Human by Dazai.

Silent is definitely easier than Ironclad to get a hang on. Much easier to put together a shiv or poison deck than a corruption deck for Ironclad.

If it makes you feel any better, when you're healing in WoW and the group dies it's usually the tank's fault.

Redundancy in game play is problematic when the gameplay loop isn't particularly engaging in the first place. Ghost of Tsushima had this problem for me. The combat in that game is decent, but it becomes less engaging as your character grows more powerful later in the game.

Hard to say, really. There's the whole protocol where they can override the switch outside the Severance floor.
