Guess I am here now too!

As far as introductions go, hey, I’m Elys!

I’m active in music communities, primarily Ghost, Joker Out, Nothing But Thieves and others. I love raving about literature, writing and the books that I read.

See you around! :)

one of the stupid things that makes me feel alive is taking long exposure shots of night rocket launches taking off from Canaveral.

It’s almost July and the weather is yet to reach 20°. The jacket I thought I’d put away for the season three months ago is still faithfully hanging on its hook and maybe, in my head, that’s the definition of this summer - quiet, calm change, like the static of the waves crashing against the shore.

My personal version of christmas in July is randomly putting cinnamon in my coffee and missing apple pie in may

Why did no one tell me that quitting a toxic job that steals pieces of your mind and soul was the most satisfying thing ever? Man, I should have done this way sooner.

Every time I see KAJ on screen, it always strikes me how much Jakob looks like a man who absolutely cannot believe that he gets to do this for a living.

I’ve noticed over the years that a lot of my favourite acts in the contest aren’t always necessarily the biggest competition to win, but just people who seem to love the experience and being there.

There’s something so enticing about performers who just eat up the stage and thrive within chaos.

Finally get to listen to Even in Arcadia and it’s everything I expected and more. Matched the vibe by listening exhausted in the dark ✨

It’s weird how people root homes in your head and heart long after they’re gone from your life.

I still remember all my childhood friends birthdays and what they liked from the cafeteria and the books they liked in our literature classes.

I don’t notice it on the daily, but on cloudy, rainy days I often become aware of the tint that my glasses have due to the blue light filter.

And I can’t help thinking that it’s so nice to have a bit more vibrancy on those days, how dull (and unfocused!! 🫠) the world looks without it.

Starting the way off with fresh strawberries and a nice creamy coffee, I’m not letting anything get to me today.

Turns out I curiously picked the perfect day to forget my earbuds at home.

Black Mirror is so back to it’s former glory with Common People, I feel like my heart got ripped out and ran through the shredder, wow

On buying used books from the previous owner:

When I bought this, the girl I got it from asked me if she should remove the tabs and underlining and I immediately told her no, they made it all the better!

So now I am reading this book with a stranger’s notes in it and it’s such a cosy feeling 🥺

A quote from Mieko Kawakami’s “Breasts And Eggs”, got me thinking about how much of our life we spend chasing moments of happiness, more than just comfort or satisfaction.

A little while ago I got to go see some of Flow’s awards, amongst them, the Oscar too. Now I get to share it so you can see it too!

So turns out the silly little sauna song in repeat is really good for keeping me sane whilst doing inventory (the bane of my existence) at work 😄

My hate for generative AI aside, why are people so comfortable just handing out their personal and family pictures to OpenAI, that sounds like a terrible idea
