i thought it was too quiet on that front
a good video diving into a recently released game, but what i found most interesting is that they used RL to train the AI enemies to walk instead of hand-animation. and there's plenty of other AI and automation used to make the game. yet not much pushback from the usual suspects.

a bit of both, and that alignment is fundamentally an engineering problem, not pure math (will likely never build a mind that's provably safe and useful) and that we won't jump from AGI to ASI in a single bound, in days, weeks or maybe even years.

it's not so much about the outcomes but about the types of people that gravitate to the problem and the solutions they consider. for the climate movement, that's nimbys or degrowthers that oppose building lithium mines or solar plants because any industrial development is anti-environment coded.

i think so, but it doesn't seem like it should have remained so tightly coupled to reddit. the concept seems pretty obvious.

that's also been very unique to reddit - every other social media site adopted the heart or like feature but you don't see upvotes/downvotes nearly as commonly

yeah, moderation was necessary to make the jump from random users "I make pottery AMA" to famous celebs and teams which want to curate the experience
