There’s always more work to do of course, but our first round of applicants reflects a vibrant cross-section of the indie TTRPG world.

Non-binary and gender-nonconforming designers made up 38% of applicants, nearly equal to male applicants.

Over half of applicants had already self-published a project of some kind (game, module, toolkit). A full third were first-time designers with no prior publishing experience; 15% had either worked on a third-party project or had their work published by someone else.

Solo developers made up the largest share of applicants (48%), but taken together, team projects (2+ people) accounted for the majority of submissions. The most common duo? A writer and an artist.
