Tabbre proposes floating solar farms located in the remote oceanic gyres of the South Atlantic, South Pacific, and South Indian Oceans. Utilising cutting-edge thin-film perovskite photovoltaic technology, these solar farms will convert sunlight into electricity efficiently, while being cost-effective and environmentally sustainable. The solar farms will consist of lightweight, flexible rafts covered in solar cells that produce hydrogen through electrolysis. This hydrogen will be stored and collected by automated harvester vessels, which will transfer it to floating factory platforms. The hydrogen will then be converted into ammonia, methane, or other refined fuels, all of which will be clean alternatives to fossil fuels.
