The honu is ONE of my Kānaka family’s ʻaumakua [ancestral guardian in the shape of an animal]. WE do NOT hunt/eat esp sea turtles - very FEW Kānaka fm my 1980s gen do. We strongly OPPOSE hunting honu & ADVOCATE for their protection. 1/
